Continuo is built around sleep and wake. Close the lid, come back tomorrow, and it should reconnect without re-pairing. You keep the same trust relationship; only the live session pauses while a Mac is asleep or unreachable.
Sleep and wake
When a Mac sleeps, the session pauses. When it wakes, Continuo reconnects using pinned trust. No new three-word code.
If Wake paired Macs from sleep is enabled on this Mac, it may send wake signals to sleeping peers when you return. See Wake a sleeping Mac for manual wake, automatic wake, and limits.
Lock screen
When a Mac locks its screen, Continuo suspends remote control to that Mac. Injected input does not reach the lock screen. Unlock the target Mac physically, or wait until it is awake and unlocked on the far side, and control resumes without re-pairing.
Lock-screen control from a remote Mac is not available in the current release, even with Pro.
Link drops
If the network blips, Continuo releases control immediately. It does not hold onto a half-dead session. Move the cursor or choose Connect from the menu bar panel once both Macs are back on the network.
Input Monitoring after sleep
Rarely, macOS revokes or suspends Input Monitoring until Continuo relaunches. If keys stop forwarding after wake, choose Quit & Reopen from the menu bar panel and check Permissions.
Mesh sleep sync
Settings → Advanced → Mesh sleep sync (optional) coordinates sleep across paired Macs when enabled. Tune idle threshold and dim-when-held-awake behaviour there if sleep timing across the desk matters to you.
Cannot wake a shut-down Mac
Wake-on-LAN only reaches sleeping Macs. A machine that is fully powered off must be started locally. See Wake a sleeping Mac for the full list of limits.
