Copy on one Mac, paste on another. Clipboard sync rides a dedicated channel separate from keystroke latency, so a large paste does not stall pointer movement.
Turn it on
Settings → Sharing → Share clipboard (on by default).
Direction
Choose which way copies flow. Both ways lets either Mac push clipboard updates to the other. This → others sends only this Mac’s copies outward. Direction is available on Free and Pro.
Size limit
Maximum size sets the largest copied text or image Continuo will send. Free is capped at 1 MB. Pro raises the cap to 32 MB, which is also the most a receiving Mac accepts for copied text and images, whatever the sender’s settings say. Larger copies are skipped, not truncated.
Copied files are not held to that cap. As the pane puts it: Copied files are sent at any size. The other Mac is told a file was copied, and its bytes move only when you paste it there. Free carries one file at a time and no folders; Pro adds folders and several files at once.
What syncs
Plain text and images sync within the size cap, and copied files at any size. Images are checked at read time so Continuo does not allocate memory for oversized payloads. See Free vs Pro for tier limits.
What never syncs
Concealed and secret items (passwords and other pasteboard types macOS marks as secret) are skipped. This is enforced under Settings → Privacy & Security and cannot be turned off.
Continuo also suppresses echo: when it writes to the pasteboard locally, that write is not broadcast back to peers.
When files arrive
Notify on receive under Settings → Sharing shows a notification when files land on this Mac, including large clipboard pulls. Grant notification permission when prompted.
