Changelog

What shipped, and when.

Every release, newest first.

  1. v26.10.20

Continuo is out of beta. This release gathers everything from the beta builds since September.

    • Log in to a Mac from another of your Macs (Pro), even after a restart with FileVault on.
    • Lock the pointer to one Mac with fn+L, and lock or sleep all your Macs at once (Pro).
    • Arrangements are remembered for each set of screens, so closing a lid or unplugging a monitor no longer costs you the layout.
  2. v26.10.19-beta-450

Pairing is safer, unpairing an unreachable Mac now sticks, and the update window shows what you missed.

    • The update window lists the last few releases, so a version you skipped no longer hides what it brought.
    • Unpairing a Mac that is out of reach now sticks. This Mac remembers who it still owes the news to and tells them the next time they connect.
  3. v26.10.16-beta-443

Settings now tells you when an early-bird price is on.

    • When an early-bird price is on, Settings › Licence and the upgrade window say so and show the full price struck through.
    • Update checks now include a once-a-day "still in use" flag with no ID, used only to count Macs per version.
  4. v26.10.15-beta-440

A Network page in Settings, and open-source licences in About.

    • Settings has a new Network page showing how well the pointer reaches each Mac and how strong your Wi-Fi is.
    • Settings › About › Acknowledgements lists the open-source software Continuo uses.
    • Name this Mac in Settings › General, before pairing.
  5. v26.10.7-beta-434

Lock the pointer to one Mac, and lock or sleep all your Macs at once.

    • Pointer lock: press fn+L, or the lock button next to Pause, to keep the pointer on the current Mac. Press again to unlock.
    • Lock all Macs (Pro): lock this Mac and your other Macs lock too. Off by default, in Settings ▸ Wake & Sleep.
    • Sleep Sync (Pro): put this Mac to sleep and your other Macs sleep too. Off by default, in Settings ▸ Wake & Sleep.
  6. v26.10.2-beta-424

Restart for Remote Login no longer gets stuck after you enter your password.

    • Restart for Remote Login: after you entered your password, the prompt could spin forever and macOS then reported that Continuo failed to quit. It now restarts as it should.
    • The restart prompt's password field is full width again, with the buttons lined up under it.
  7. v26.10.2-beta-419

Log in to a Mac from another of your Macs, even after a restart with FileVault on.

    • Log in from another Mac (Pro): after a log out or a restart, type your password at this Mac's login window from the Mac you are using. Turn it on in Settings → Lock & Login. Both Macs need this version.
    • Restart for Remote Login: with FileVault on, this Mac restarts straight to the login window, so another Mac can log you in. Your password is used once and never stored.
    • A Mac that drops off Wi-Fi now says so in its own menu.
  8. v26.9.28-beta-392

Your Macs now remember how they were arranged for each set of screens, so closing a lid or unplugging a monitor no longer costs you the layout.

    • Continuo remembers how your Macs were arranged for each combination of screens. Close a lid, unplug a monitor or plug it back in, and the arrangement you last used with those screens comes back on its own. You arrange each combination once, by dragging in Arrange displays or pressing Fix layout, and never again.
    • The menu bar now shows just the Continuo icon by default. Turn on "Show Mac name next to icon" in Settings › General if you want the other Mac's name spelled out beside it.
    • The "Copied" flash for Select to Copy is now on by default, so you always see when your clipboard changes. You can still turn it off in Settings › Copy on Select.
  9. v26.9.22-beta-388

Window dragging works on macOS 27 again, plus a crash fix.

    • Updates are checked every hour instead of once a day (beta period only; the interval will go back up once Continuo is stable).
    • You can move windows again on a controlled Mac running macOS 27.
    • Fixed a crash when releasing the mouse over Continuo's own windows or menu-bar icon.
  10. v26.9.22-beta-384

Keep just the Continuo icon in your menu bar, see what's new before you update, and drags and edge crossings no longer get in the way.

    • You can hide the other Mac's name in the menu bar and keep just the Continuo
    • When an update is available, the update window now lists what changed in it,
    • The notch drop zone's target picker now opens as you arrive, rather than while
  11. v26.9.19-beta-377

Links and text drop where you drag them, and Continuo no longer freezes on a slow app or a lost connection.

    • A link or a piece of text dragged to another Mac could not be dropped into Safari,
    • Selecting text in an app that was slow to answer could freeze Continuo for a moment
    • If the connection to another Mac dropped while you were browsing its shared folder,
  12. v26.9.12-beta-374

Select to Copy now works in Chromium and Electron apps.

    • Select to Copy now works in apps built on Chromium or Electron — Microsoft Edge and
  13. v26.9.9-beta-372

The pointer always has one owner, edge crossing works from every Mac, updates are smaller.

    • Updates are about a third smaller — Continuo downloads only the build for your Mac's chip.
    • With three or more Macs, two Macs could move the pointer at once and it stuttered
    • Easy edge crossing works from every Mac, not just the one your keyboard and mouse
  14. v26.9.6-beta-369

    First public beta.

    • One keyboard and mouse across every Mac on your LAN.
    • A shared clipboard. Copy on one Mac, paste on another.
    • Drag and drop between Macs: files, text, links and images.
